For the price, this was one of the best hostel stays I’ve had anywhere, including in Southeast Asia. It was about €8 per night, and staying here supports local people. The receptionist was kind and very helpful. The hostel is on the top floor of an older industrial building, with a somewhat attic-like layout. It’s been fully renovated, though, and is clean, with Scandinavian furniture, plants, and modern appliances. The reception, rooms, and shared spaces are all up there. Each room has just a few high-quality bunk beds, with charging outlets, privacy curtains, great mattresses, and large lockable wardrobes. You enter with a digital card, and there’s Wi-Fi, a dedicated desk, a large mirror, and A/C. The showers, toilets, kitchen, and dining area are shared at the back, which gives you a chance to socialize. It’s not very far from the center of Uzhorod. My two real concerns were that they only took cash, possibly because of the war, and that the parking in front didn’t feel safe. Staff said there was CCTV, but that didn’t reassure me. The lot is exposed, with two busy main roads meeting right in front, and I couldn’t find a better place to leave my motorbike. Even so, it’s an amazing place to stay, and I’d come back without hesitation.
