The toughest part was getting up to the accommodation. The road, or really the lack of one, is extreme, so we gave this a lower score. Jeeps and four-wheel-drive vehicles make the climb; you can also ask people living below the mountain to drive you and your car for 400 UAH, and leave the car with them. Once there, though, Polonyna estate is a magical place for recharging and being alone with nature, away from people. The views are wonderful, and from the swing you can watch the stars for hours. It's quiet in a way that's hard to find in the city. There are seals that add to the mood, and grasshoppers outside the grounds that let you pet and feed them. The cottage is clean and matches its photos inside and out. Downstairs are one room, a kitchen, and a living room with a fireplace; upstairs are two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The kitchen has enough dishes and space for a small group. You can cook for yourself, arrange a chef, or grill. Verkhovyna has plenty of shops and cafes, and you can pick mushrooms at the edge of the forest.

We wanted somewhere close to nature and away from crowds, and Polonina Estate was just right. The cottages are cozy, with balconies and mountain views from every one, and the grounds are beautifully kept. The staff were kind and attentive, with thanks to Vladimir and Olesya. The road up isn't for everyone, though we actually enjoyed walking from Verkhovyna. It's also an easy, quick climb up the neighboring mountain, with views of the Chornohora Range and Hoverla. At night the stars are magnificent. We'd love to return!

The view from the window is breathtaking. The estate sits far away, practically at the top of a mountain, with stunning scenery all around. Vladimir handled every request incredibly quickly, even our little whims, and Olesya cooked us amazing meals at a very reasonable price. The house has everything needed for a comfortable stay. We loved it and definitely recommend it, especially for families with children, since the playground is excellent.
