This is a lovely, very new family-run wooden house in a traditional Ukrainian Carpathian style, but I had a really awful stay. There are only seven rooms, and although just three were occupied when we arrived, we were put next to the kitchen. At 6 AM the owners began talking noisily there while I was trying to rest after driving 1,000 kilometers. The bed hadn't been made, and the owner told us to make it ourselves. The towels were too small for showering, and no breakfast was offered or available to buy. If you expect service, you may have to teach the owners what you need and insist on it. I hope things improve over time. I wouldn't recommend it as a hotel for an overnight stop on a drive to or from the border or Ukraine's capital. It feels more like an ethnic-style house or a weekend place for two or three families.

The views are lovely and the prices are reasonable. Staff aren't always around, though, and the pool is a somewhat small portable one.

Ivan and Vita made us feel like old friends, and whenever we asked, they set the table for us. The food was homemade, delicious and served in generous portions at reasonable prices. The natural setting is beautiful with fresh air, and the road there is excellent, with no potholes or switchbacks, so getting to this well-located hotel is easy. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and prices are reasonable. There are vats, trout fishing, a playground for children, Mount Pikuy and a small pool. It was a bit cold in the pool in May, but should be perfect in summer. Thanks for such a lovely vacation.
