The prices are reasonable and the food is really tasty. The mushroom soup is incredible, and the borscht is filling enough to last you all day. After that, you might only manage half a portion of dumplings, but the girls will pack the rest for you if you need. Highly recommend!

After a hike in the mountains, it was nice to come into the warm, comfortable dining room at Smerekova Khata. We ordered borscht, cheese dumplings, and banosh, and every dish was delicious. The prices were a pleasant surprise, and the atmosphere was lovely. I wasn’t keen on the stuffed animals on the walls, but otherwise it’s a great place I’d return to.

We even drive 4 km to have lunch or dinner here. The borscht is the best I’ve had in a while, and the spread served with toasted bread was a hit even with a child. It’s the most delicious place in Slavsko. Even when the power goes out, they keep up the service and atmosphere.

The open fire in the middle of the establishment is the main feature. Inside, the kolyba has a lovely Ukrainian-style interior and delicious dishes. The place is atmospheric and beautiful, and the mountain views on the way there are lovely too.

We wanted a kolyba where we could really feel the Carpathian vibe, and this place was cozy, with every dish we ordered incredibly tasty. Thank you! Now we know where we’ll return for lunch or dinner.
