We had a great stay at "Tikhaya Gavan" over the May holidays in 2021. The administrator arranged a chef and waiter for us, which we really enjoyed. The local food was a highlight, especially all the ways they prepare Danube herring, and there’s plenty to keep adults and kids busy around the spacious, landscaped grounds. We found fishing spots, a covered dining gazebo, benches for snacks or relaxing, and lawns for playing. Our two-story log house was spotless and comfortable, with four cozy bedrooms and a huge dining room with comfortable furniture. Bed linens and good quality toiletries were provided. We’ll be back, and I highly recommend it.

The team was attentive and personable, and whenever we had a small complaint, they dealt with it or helped make it better right away. We’re picky customers, but this stay earned 12 out of 12. Valery Ivanovich was especially welcoming and attentive, and an interesting person too. He’s published two books about the local region. The grounds are beautiful and comfortable, the scenery is stunning, the fishing is excellent, and everywhere was very, very clean. You can arrange a chef and service, which was fantastic and not that expensive when you consider the time saved on shopping, cooking, dishes, and cleaning. Chef Larisa makes delicious food, including local Lipovan cuisine. I especially recommend the fish soup cooked over an open fire. The staff are well-chosen, and the biggest supermarket in Vilkovo is nearby.

The pier was beautiful, but there was nothing else to like. The people weren’t friendly, and the kitchen wasn’t working.
