SPA-Hotel Dodo

The restaurant menu was the weak point for us. The list of dishes is small, some items can't be ordered late, there's no kids' menu, and we didn't see a wine list or other usual bar options like cocktails or spirits. The hotel itself is lovely, with a gorgeous interior and large, clean rooms. Ours had two windows and French balconies, and the place was very quiet. The spa center is large and offers lots of services: a sizable pool with a geyser and air pump, a nice jacuzzi, a big hammam plus a smaller one, herbal, Russian, and Finnish saunas, a salt cave, and many massage rooms. Kids could jump into the water, and no one told us not to. They were all happy doing it.

The sauna was fairly good, but the place was dirty and some of the water attractions weren't working. The pool was about 10-15°C. The rooms are old and badly need repairs, with broken furniture. Breakfast was a worst-case scenario, with no choice, and served in another building. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

The bed was comfortable, the curtains blocked the light well, and the Wi-Fi worked well in my room. The downsides were traffic noise from the main road, an unattractive area far from the city center, and staff who spoke only basic English. There was a strong smell of smoke in the bathroom despite the no-smoking policy, no hair dryer, and several stains on the carpet. Parking is private but has no gate. Breakfast had only a few similar choices, and the dog fee was €10 per day.

The sauna and spa were great, and the room and breakfast were good too. The Wi-Fi didn't work well, though, and the restaurant brought the whole experience down. Plenty of items were listed, but not all were available. The veal kebab we ordered was so dry it seemed to need a chainsaw to cut. The worst part was my girlfriend asking the waitress whether she recommended veal with cherry sauce or duck breast with cherry sauce. The waitress recommended the duck, so my girlfriend ordered it. After we waited over an hour, despite only five people including us being in the restaurant, the waitress brought veal instead. She said she'd changed the order herself, without asking or giving a reason. We didn't want to wait another hour, so my girlfriend ate it, but that ruined the good mood from the spa.
