This is a very local place, certainly not a muzungu hotel, but I’d highly recommend it if you enjoy being among local people. The manager is wonderful and takes good care of you, and the food is really good. Breakfast at 0700 hrs usually isn’t possible, so manage your expectations. You may get it at 0730 hrs. There are different rooms at different prices. I usually take a room with a king size bed, hot shower, and fridge for 45,000 ugx, breakfast included. Dinner can be ordered for 12000 to 20,000 ugx. Since the kitchen is attached to the accommodation, the food comes piping hot and is great.

It’s quiet at night since the hotel is a little outside the busy town centre. There’s a parking area in front, and it feels very safe. The hotel began in 1999, started by a Dutch couple, and many Arua people celebrated the millennium change here. It has five bedrooms and a large central room. Outside, there are several typical North Ugandan cool huts where you can meet friends, have a drink, or eat meat roasts. The name comes from the borehole at the front corner of the property, which ensures water for guests in this super dry area.
