For an affordable place in Gulu City Centre, it’s easy to get to and the rooms are clean and looked after. The shared two-bed rooms have just one toilet, and it has no door, so there’s no privacy. The toilets are also a bit narrow. Still, it’s a decent option for this level of hotel.

Breakfast was decent, and hot water was available all the time. It’s a bed-and-breakfast place with clean bathrooms. The style is nice for the price, though the rooms feel a bit cramped if you want more leg room.

The meals are good and there’s plenty of choice, and the internet in the rooms is strong enough to stream most stations. They should put TVs in every room, though, and the rooms could use an upgrade.

The annex seems to have better facilities than the main building, but parking is limited. Since the hotel is right by the road, traffic noise carries into the rooms. Cleanliness was poor in my room, around 4/10. The white towels looked dingy, and the room sandals were old and worn. It also isn’t suitable for someone with mobility disabilities, as there’s no wheelchair parking or access for moving around.

The rooms are simple but comfortable, with free WiFi and a screen for DSTV, and the price is reasonable. Meals come quickly, there’s a good variety, and there’s an indoor-outdoor meeting area. It’s on Market Street near Gulu Main Market, about a seven-minute drive from Shell Petrol Station via Bank Lane.
