Speke Courts Hotel

The small gardens are neat, the parking can fit plenty of cars, and the service was good. Breakfast was scrumptious, and the clean rooms had instant water heaters. The road works were ongoing, though, and Google Maps sent us around in circles. I’d recommend it for anyone wanting easy access to Jinja Town.

It’s easy to reach at the edge of busy Jinja, yet the location feels like a hideout right in town. I’ve spent quiet, uninterrupted evenings working at Speke Courts and enjoyed some tasty meals. The menu is very limited, though, and I’ve never found exactly what I wanted to eat. I always end up choosing one of just three options: beef, chicken, or fish.

The staff were friendly and it’s close to the places you’d need to get to, but the stay itself wasn’t very exciting. The mattresses and pillows were so hard and uncomfortable that your neck could hurt, and there were dust bunnies under the bed. It seemed like the cleaning crew only focused on the top. I was there for work, not by choice, and keeping costs down mattered. For me, it’s a 3.5.

Affordable rooms, standard service, and breakfast with bread.
