I paid 50k UGX for a single room with breakfast, which was far cheaper than the price on booking. For me, it’s easily the best value in Kabale. The rooms are clean and well equipped with a TV, hot shower and towels, though they’re missing a mosquito net. The restaurant also has a good view, and the staff are helpful and kind.

The gardens are well kept and lovely for relaxing, and breakfast on the balcony is just okay. Parking is ample, but I had to honk for a while before the gate man opened up. One night, returning from errands at 11pm, I waited 15 minutes for the gate. I stayed at Hakyiri for two nights in May 2025. The room was comfortable for the rates, but the experience was a blur because of housekeeping. I got back from a field work day at 7pm to find the room hadn’t been cleaned at all. The excuse was that the housekeeper had a lot of laundry to do, which was absurd. They need to sort out housekeeping and then it’ll be okay.

I liked the quiet setting for work and personal reflection. It’s away from the town’s hustle, but still easy to walk into town. Security is excellent, the internet is reliable, and the place is spotless, with modern facilities that feel fresh and inviting. It’s a great place to focus and relax.
