Banana Village

The location is fantastic. I went there to swim, but the pool wasn’t very clean and there were no cushions on the beds. We wanted to get something to eat, but the kitchen wasn’t working.

The gardens are peaceful and full of birds, and monkeys come by too, which makes this a lovely oasis. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the pool is great if you want to use it. I’d rather sit by it with a beer at sunset. It’s a comfortable retreat and a good stop when travelling to or from Entebbe.

I spent three days here and really enjoyed the quiet setting for a vacation or retreat. The service was nice, and the rooms, washrooms, and toilets were very clean. The pool washroom and toilet were so dirty, though, and that was disappointing. The food was very nice, especially the wonderful banana cake.

The buffet lunch was good, but breakfast could use more effort and better organization. Prices were very reasonable, though the accounts girl could use a lesson in smiling at guests. The owner is a loving, caring lady, and the place has plenty of potential. It could be beautiful, but right now it has a neglected look. Cutting the grass, trimming the hedges, adding some paint, and sweeping around would make a big difference.
