I arrived after a long journey at 2:30 a.m., but it took about 35 minutes to get into my room. There was very little hospitality during check-in. The receptionist didn't suggest that I wait in the lounge while he handled the formalities, and showed no consideration for my late arrival. I would at least have expected someone to escort me to the room while the paperwork was finished, but that courtesy wasn't offered. It also took an eternity to bring my luggages down. I paid USD 55 for a room that, in my view, wasn't worth the price. It was extremely small, and the condition and decoration were disappointing. This was a significant disappointment and showed me that the hospitality sector here still has considerable room for improvement. I've learned to see the room I'm assigned before paying.

The breakfast is fine and the staff are friendly, but the noise is extreme. Weddings and x mas parties are happening every evening. Each morning staff shout about it raining or have long, loud conversations right outside your bedroom. If you want to sleep, find somewhere else. The beds are very small, and the moscito nets are small too.

The greenery and scenery at Forest Cottages are really appealing, so it's a good choice if you love nature. The cottages have small beds, especially for tall people, and the bathroom lacks most amenities. Even the soap feels like it's for "lodges" status. Breakfast is okay-ish, and the place is quite expensive for what it offers.

The staff are well behaved and well trained, from the Askari at the gate right up to the top staff, so the customer care is awesome. I think everyone needs to experience holiness.

I only stay here in Kampala now. The place is so nice, and the staff are friendly. Manoj Singh, the chef, makes the best curries, the manager is always friendly, and the reception girls are always delightful. Well done to all the staff.
