I stayed here five years ago. It wasn't perfect, but it was okay. This time I wasn't happy. The place was very dark inside, the rooms weren't nice and had an uncomfortable smell, and the bathrooms weren't nice either. The suites weren't ready, meals took forever, and the service was poor. For that price, you can find better places in town. I'll choose another hotel next time.

I waited almost an hour just for a cup of coffee, but by local standards I still think Westcliffe Hotel is pretty good. If you judge it as a visitor and use the price as your main yardstick, though, "value for money" doesn't really describe it.

The Westcliff Hotel is a little outside the town centre. My room was clean and airy, with a comfortable bed, a fan, mosquito nets, slippers, and a bottle of drinking water. The hot shower worked, and the TV had Al Jazeera for company. The pillows could have been plumper. Some other rooms didn't have fans, and it was simply too hot in those. Unfortunately, the rooms weren't sprayed in the evening, and mosquitoes were everywhere. The food was good, but don't be late for the buffet or there may be nothing left. Maybe that's a sign of these lean Covid times. The staff were very polite. Wifi worked briefly when we arrived, then disappeared.

The room is expensive, but the facilities don't match the price, so you don't get value for money. Breakfast options are limited, too.

It's isolated, which is great if all you want is somewhere to sleep. A hearty breakfast is available. The rooms and service are just meh.
