Lado Hotel

The hotel has an old-fashioned look that took me back to the 90s, and the room was clean. Food prices are reasonable too. I had a good lunch here with my guests while we were travelling to Murchison Falls National Park. It's one of Uganda's oldest hotels and makes a recommended stop on the way to Murchison or Ziwa Rhinos. Highly recommend it.

The garden and decor have kept their original character, with an old-school charm that seems much the same as when Hemingway stayed there a century ago. The rooms need some updating, though. Even fresh detergent and fabric softener for the linen would help, since the pillows have gone flat and the sheets seem worn out. Maybe the adventurer's paradise theme could be developed to attract new guests. It's a different millennium now. Still, it's a good place to spend a night while passing through.

The heritage and decorations give the hotel a calm, interesting feel, and the food was amazing. The owners and staff were very nice and helpful. It's such a great place to stay, and it's Uganda's oldest hotel!

The rooms smelled, and it was so noisy at night. We had a miserable experience: staff were rude and money-hungry, and charged us extra for strange things, like sitting in the restaurant and bringing our own food into the room. I'll tell everyone I know who's going to Murchison about this bad experience.
