Crater Safari Lodge

The chimpanzee trek was exciting and arranged smoothly, and the stay managed to feel both adventurous and peaceful. Crater Safari Lodge sits above the crater lake, with a breathtaking view. The staff were friendly and ready to help whenever needed. Everything exceeded my expectations from beginning to end.

The staff were welcoming, warm, and attentive throughout our stay. Each morning, waking up to the crater lake at Crater Safari Lodge felt magical. Our chalet was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully set up for comfort. The chimpanzee trek near Kibale National Park was unforgettable and well organized. I left wanting to come back.

That sunset over the lake from the pool was my favorite part of the visit. We spent two very pleasant nights here, with beautiful rooms and a stunning lake view. Kibale National Park is very close, and the hotel can arrange a guide for activities. The pool itself is gorgeous. Most of the food was very good, though service varied between meals. The avocado salad and grilled tilapia were especially good. I was taken aback by the wine price: a glass of white wine of unknown type cost $12.50, and they couldn't tell me what kind it was. The rooms felt a little overpriced, particularly the larger villas. At that price, I was disappointed to find a couple of broken floorboards and a leaking tub. Still, the place was gorgeous, and the view may have made the extra cost worthwhile.

We were lucky to be the hotel's only guests, and the staff were more than amazing. Geoffrey was such a kind host and deserves a shout out! After our Chimp trek, they even offered to do our laundry and clean our boots. The room was beautiful, with incredible crater views, and we enjoyed the pool on our first day. Food was served à la carte, with delicious options. We had an amazing stay, and I'd highly recommend it to people doing Chimp Treks.
