After our gorilla trek, they even helped get the mud off our shoes and offered to do our laundry. The people from the Karungi community who run this lovely lodge were kind and attentive throughout. It’s close to Bwindi Rainforest and National Park, and we stayed two nights before the trek and two more afterward.

The manager was really helpful and could sort out any problem. The room was clean, and the meals were very good. We had the best soups we ate in Uganda here. Cocktails felt a little overpriced, but you can relax by the fireplace in the evening. We stayed two nights and thought the value for money was good. I’d recommend it for a visit to Bwindi National Park.

The food was good at every meal, including the packed lunch. The staff were all friendly and focused on helping guests. It’s a great base for gorilla tracking, and local people also come by for dinner or a drink, so there’s a nice chance to meet others.

The food was the best I had during my trip, and the hot water was amazing. I spent three nights here while trekking in Bwindi, and the staff looked after me really well. My room was very comfortable, too. I also went hiking with Gordon and enjoyed learning about local farming and traditions.

My brother and I stayed three nights in August, and it felt like spending time with friends. The hospitality in Bwindi is hard to beat, and the shower was the best I had in Uganda. It’s a good spot for gorilla trekking and hikes in the hills, too. Ask for Justus for a hike. Great food, Nile special, and good times all around. Thanks to everyone, especially Gordon Olive and Edna/Edwina (?!). We hope to see you again.
