There are nature walks by the lake and evenings around a campfire with stories. I also liked the tree planting program and the view from Kyaninga royal cottage. The place leaves you feeling peaceful.

The nature walks and campfire were a lovely part of the stay, along with the tasty meals and welcoming staff. Kyaninga royal cottage felt like a home away from home.

The lake view is great, and the road getting here was better than the roads to some other crater lakes, though it still isn't the best. The rooms are fine and the shower gets nice and warm. In some rooms, though, it's so close to the door that water gets nearly everywhere.

The road in is pretty rough, so be ready for that, but it was worth it. We had a quiet night in a brand new room, with a comfortable bed, great food, and a breathtaking view. The staff were especially kind and attentive. William and Grace walked us to the swimming spot, where we had a lovely swim. Amazing value for money.

The view is gorgeous, and there are lovely trails for walking and biking. Two kittens kept following us around and enjoyed being petted. Everyone was kind and the service was great. There were a few letdowns: the outlets in my room didn't work, so I couldn't charge my phone beside the bed. Since the hot water is solar-generated, morning showers can be quite cold. We also had fish for dinner one night that was spoiled, and most of it had to be thrown out.
