The afternoon tea and biscuits were a lovely touch, and breakfast was generous and tasty. We especially liked the homemade jams. As we were leaving, our waiter gave us a cup of jam to take home, and having it on toast this morning brought back memories of the great service and lovely hotel. We only stayed one night, in a modern room tucked under the eaves. The bed was really nice, the soft linens were comfortable, and the large en-suite bath was a treat. It was probably the best bed we had on our trip.

We had a window table overlooking the harbour, and the food was exceptional. The staff were welcoming and very polite, with a lovely atmosphere in the place. We’ll be back for another great meal and to catch the sunset.

The staff really made our meal, they were warm, polite and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Food was delicious, portions were good, and the varied menu was very reasonably priced. We sat in the bar, where the decor and atmosphere were just right. Such a positive restaurant experience, the team deserve credit for the effort they put into looking after guests.

The cockles were a revelation, and the oysters were fresh. Even the desserts were balanced and full of flavor. But the pasta was the standout, the best I’ve ever had, with a simple idea cooked brilliantly. It was a remarkable meal that showed how much quality matters more than complexity. Some of the best food I’ve eaten.

The welcome was lovely, with a complimentary drink and cake when we arrived, and the man who checked us in and served breakfast gave us the best service. Breakfast was 10/10 too. Our room was clean and welcoming, and the bed was super comfortable. We had an amazing stay, thank you!
