Dinner and breakfast were very good, and the room was excellent, with everything you’d expect in a modern hotel. It’s a 45 minute walk from the station, so you need a taxi. Prices change a lot by day of the week, but Sunday night was good value. My only complaint was the price of drinks at the bar. Or maybe I just don’t get out enough these days to compare!

We had a fantastic night here. The staff were all great, and the renovation work didn’t affect our stay at all. Breakfast was included, and my poached eggs on a muffin with avo and lime were really good. Our room had no heating, but there were five plug-in oil heaters to make up for it.

The hotel’s modern, with a cosy feel from the lighting and decor, and parking at both the front and back was a bonus. Breakfast was excellent, cooked to order and good quality. When I arrived in December for a nearby work Christmas dance, I realised there was no room booked because I’d made a mistake. The receptionist and management were empathetic and understanding, found me a room and even upgraded me for free. A lovely touch. The whole stay was fantastic, and the staff deserve credit for their terrific attitudes and eagerness to make guests feel special. Merry Christmas Malmaison Aberdeen.

Close friends gave us Afternoon Tea for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Chez Mal served a modern tea with a bistro twist, including hot and cold savouries and traditional bakes and desserts. The food was delicious, and the setting was comfortable. No soft white bread on today’s menu.

A relaxed lounge and bar, friendly staff, and a really nice atmosphere. I like the reward for reducing room cleaning on stays of multiple nights. The car park at the back is useful, though quite small. Our room was very nice, with a coffee machine, chocolates (!) and a good choice of TV stations. Very happy with the stay.
