It's quiet, really tidy and welcoming even in the off hours. This family-run place has changed with the times, and the steady improvement and hard work are clearly part of its success in changing markets. I remember it going back to my school days, and it's been added to since then. It has a golf theme and a thoughtful whisky guide for tourists. The Scottish breakfast was a belter, with a perfect portion of beans when so many places have been skimping on them. I didn't stay overnight, so can't speak to the rooms. There are no dogs and a different clientele now. Tucked away in what has become a sprawling industrial estate, it may be little known to tourists, who are missing its competitive prices and nice surroundings. A good base for tourists exploring toward Braemar and beyond, and ideal for companies putting people up for a night or a few days. Glad places like the Pinehurst are still around. Recommended!

Inside feels a bit dated, but it's clean and welcoming. The setting looks nice once you're in from the industrial estate, with good outdoor areas and plenty of parking. The food and service were both okay, nothing bad but nothing special either. It's decent value, so a fair choice for basic pub grub.

Sitting outside on the lawn in summer is a real treat. There are benches, some sweet ornaments and a peaceful feel, and they're happy to serve food outside. The sharing nachos were enormous, enough for a family, and great value. The bar has a good range of choices, and the menu is a decent size with something for most people at reasonable prices for the setting. The restaurant feels a little old-fashioned, but that's part of its charm, and you're made to feel welcome as soon as you walk in. I'll definitely return, and it's worth a detour.

Lovely Sunday lunch. The roast beef was top class, cooked perfectly, and all our meals were high quality. Thank you.

It grew on me over the three days, as my first impression wasn't great. It's a typical work lodging place, convenient for helicopter trips offshore, and the breakfasts and evening menu suited that sort of stay. I'd use it again.
