Vivienne was thoughtful, helpful and available whenever we needed her, and her suggestions were much appreciated. Our room and ensuite were just right, and breakfast each day included fresh fruit, freshly baked goods and delicious choices. There's a book in the room full of useful information, from restaurants and sights to how the buses work. The guesthouse is beautiful and near all the places we wanted to see. We could walk almost everywhere, and a bus stopped right outside if needed. After a couple of hectic travel weeks, Vivienne helped me relax. All the good reviews we read while planning were spot on. Highly recommend for a visit to Edinburgh.

For our honeymoon road trip, we stayed here for two nights, and it turned out to be a wonderful choice. Vivienne was warm and made us feel at home. The room and breakfast were both good quality. The location worked perfectly: each morning we walked around Edinburgh, came back when we were tired, then headed out again in the evening. I'd highly recommend Sherwood Guest House to any traveller.

The room is very small, so it's good to know that before you book. That said, the furnishings and room itself were fine, and the size wouldn't put me off returning. Vivienne is a great host, breakfast is generous, and the quiet neighbourhood is conveniently placed with very good bus links. Everything else is perfect.

For my first trip to Scotland, I'm so glad I picked Vivienne's guesthouse. She's warm and easy to talk to, and gave me helpful ideas and tips for my visit. I'd definitely come back.
