The Aberdeen Altens Hotel

I come back to this hotel often because it’s clean and tidy, and the staff are friendly and responsive. The restaurant food is good quality, with plenty to choose from, and breakfast is generous. There’s a pool and gym, though I haven’t used either, so I can’t say what they’re like.

We had a great night’s sleep and a really good breakfast while visiting family at Christmas. I’d expected it might be noisy with all the Christmas parties, but we wanted somewhere quiet and slept well. Overnight parking was about £4. It’s now one of our easy places to stay when we visit, and I’d recommend it.

The hotel was comfortable enough for a pleasant weekend, and I’d consider coming back if the location suited. It’s beginning to look dated in some areas, especially the bathroom, though everything was clean. The room was a decent size, with two armchairs, lots of storage and a good sized TV. There weren’t sockets by the bed, and the air conditioning wasn’t very effective, but I could open the window a little. It can get busy, and the restaurant was full when I tried, so keep that in mind as there aren’t many alternatives nearby.

The bus stop right outside made it easy to get into the city and back. We had a good sized room with a big bed, slept well, and found the staff very friendly. We also really enjoyed the pool and other facilities. It was a fantastic price for what we got, and I’d happily stay again.
