The staff were efficient and friendly, and I thought the sticky toffee pudding was better than the rest of the meal. I think it was homemade. We first visited one Sunday and arrived a bit late, but they were still serving. The food was alright, though I had to ask for apple sauce with my pork. I’m not sure why restaurants serve Yorkshire Pudding with everything. My two vegetarian companions felt their roast was a bit small. The un-ironed tartan table cover on top didn’t make a good first impression and spoiled the presentation. I also thought it was a bit overpriced for what we had, and I won’t be rushing back.

The staff, including the Owner, were friendly, fun, and helpful from Monday through to Saturday morning. They couldn’t have done more for us or our Great Dane, Squeak, who loved staying there too. The locals were welcoming as well. My wife and I had booked three nights but enjoyed the stay enough to add two more. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed, and the food was delicious. I’ll recommend this hotel to everyone I can, and we’ll definitely be back soon.

The menu had a good range of choices, and we enjoyed our evening meal in a lovely setting. First class service too. We’ll come again when we’re next in the area and highly recommend it.

We’d definitely stay again, though probably at the weekend, when there seems to be more entertainment in the area. We had a great one-night stay, booked through Booking.com, and were impressed by how clean, tidy, and welcoming the hotel felt. It has that classic Scottish hotel feel. A staff member checked us in and gave us the key to room 6, which is up a few flights of stairs on the top, attic floor. The room was spacious, clean, and tidy, and the ensuite bathroom was one of the biggest we had on our travels. The shower was hot and powerful. We stayed on a Monday and found that nearly every restaurant and takeaway in town, including the hotel’s, was closed or shut before 8. The Wetherspoons along the road was the exception and stayed open until 11pm. Back at the hotel, we were told the bar closes at 9:30pm, but we were welcome to finish our drinks in the lounge. Breakfast during the week is continental style. The staff were polite and well presented, and there’s a large car park. It was too wet for us to use the big outdoor area. One thing to watch: Google Maps takes you to another street on the other side of the road if you use the postcode. When we got home, we found that both Booking.com and the hotel had taken payment. I phoned the hotel and they refunded it immediately. Well done to the staff at Bennachie, great service and a great hotel.

The food was great and well priced, the staff were lovely, and there’s a nice wee bar area. I stopped in for a meal on the way to something without knowing anything about the place. I loved the crumble, though it needed more custard 😉. The outside area looks lovely. The chairs were a bit wobbly and the tables could maybe use a spruce up, but that didn’t affect the meal. I’d definitely go back and recommend it. If I could give 4.9, I would.
