The spa was lovely and warm, with changing rooms and showers, though you do have to leave the hotel to reach its building. We also loved how dog friendly the place was, especially the treats waiting at reception. The grounds are gorgeous, with a waterfall coming down from the hills and running through them, so you can stroll alongside it. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, including with our dietary needs, and the food was really good. By the time we left, we felt like part of the family. Our room was a little dated, and the soft bed and pillows left us with sore necks. Still, it had everything we needed and great views, and we barely spent time in it. A beautiful historic hotel with lots of character, and a warm, relaxing feel. We'd definitely recommend it and hope to come back in summer for the local water activities.

We came back because Emilia made us feel so cared for on our first visit. It was pouring with rain and flooding had begun around Aberfoyle, but she called with updates about the weather and roads and did everything she could to help us arrive safely. Her kind, warm welcome stayed with us. A very special thank you to her. We'll never forget her kindness. The scenery overlooking the loch is peaceful and breathtaking. The hotel is spotless, and you can see how much pride and effort the whole team puts into it. Eliam at the spa was also incredibly welcoming and added to the relaxing, comfortable feeling. We first stayed in December for our anniversary, and it became an unforgettable trip. It was the first time in my life I'd returned to the same place, and the care we received made coming back an easy choice. We've recommended the hotel to several friends, and they all loved it too. It makes you feel safe, welcome and valued, more than just a hotel.

The afternoon tea had a lovely selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes, and the scenery was stunning. Our waiter Joe was so friendly and chatted with us quite a bit. Caroline and Joe really made the day feel special. My wife and I came for a spa day yesterday. After a welcome and briefing at reception, we spent a little while at the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, then went for our massages. Caroline was lovely, and her massage was so relaxing I didn't want to get off the bed. It was my first facial, and although I hadn't been fussed about having one, I absolutely loved it and felt great afterwards. I'd definitely recommend Caroline. My wife had another therapist whose name I don't know, and she was very good too. We returned to the spa before tea. The hotel was great, though the steam room could have been steamier and the sauna wasn't as hot as I'd expected. Still, it was a great day, with beautiful scenery and two staff members who deserve a mention.

We badly needed a break, and Sam and the staff of Forest Hills delivered. The weather was awful in late January, but we still had a lovely stay. When it rained, we swam, used the sauna and had spa treatments from the skilful beautician, then read and drank tea by a log fire. When the skies cleared, we went out to explore the grand Trossachs. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable, with views of Loch Ard and the gardens. The hotel has an older charm, and its lovely grounds are worth a wander. We ate there each evening, and Przemeck looked after us with that European-style hospitality. Quiet luxury. Thank you.

The food was superb, and all the staff went above and beyond to make our Saturday evening celebration in the Lomond Suite a success. I spoke with the restaurant manager that afternoon, and he went out of his way to arrange music and make the room beautifully set up, warm and cosy. Megan had also been super helpful throughout the planning. We'd just returned from a family celebration break with a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments. My mother and father in law stayed in a hotel room with a loch view, and all the accommodation was of a very high standard. The staff were fantastic. We have a few big birthdays and milestones coming up, so we'll be looking to return.
