We celebrated a family birthday here and had a wonderful time. The Sunday lunch was hot and delicious, with plenty of choice in the two course menu. Lizzie, our waitress, was polite and really friendly. The setting is great, and the outside area with its lovely view must be especially nice in summer. We’ll definitely return.

We had a weekend stay at this lovely little hotel. The rooms were clean, the beds were good, and there were tea and coffee facilities. Staff were knowledgeable, accommodating and fantastic with the service. We included breakfast and enjoyed the full English, the tasty sourdough breakfast baguette and eggs Benedict. The cappuccino, coffee and tea were very good too. Lovely location and lovely people.

Christmas Eve breakfast was a relaxing way to begin the day, even with our large family group of 15. The food and service were both great, and everyone's needs were catered for. Everything was well organised. We had a really lovely experience at the Throckmorton, so thank you so much.

The young waiting staff really stood out at yesterday’s Burns Supper. They clearly knew their jobs, got on with things, and did it all with a smile and eye contact, which made the evening even more enjoyable. The food was exceptional, as I expected since I’ve been before, and I enjoyed the event itself too. Thank you.

I’m one of the returning visitors here. It’s a lovely, friendly pub and a nice place to stay, with attentive staff, comfortable rooms and top notch food.
