We stayed five nights with our chihuahua, from 27 December 2025 to 1 January 2026, and would love to come back when we get the chance. The Lodge is laid out well and has loads of character. It isn't a standard Premier Inn or hotel room, and our room was lovely, with a really comfortable bed. There’s a log fire in the main area, too. Evelelyn and Peter were just right as hosts, always around if needed, and Jaqueline in the kitchen was friendly and made a great breakfast. There are other breakfast snacks as well, but hers are a must. What a gem.

The breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked, and the owner was happy to help with anything. This antiques centre and gift shop also operates as a B&B, with cozy en-suite rooms in a separate building across the courtyard, each with a tea tray. Check-in is from 4 to 6pm, and the owners made us feel very welcome. I slept well, though the walls between rooms are so thin you can hear every word next door. You can hear some traffic from the A1, but it wasn't overwhelming. A very unusual place to stay.

We keep coming back, this was our sixth visit, sometimes just me and sometimes with friends, family and young kids. The grounds and gardens are beautiful, and every room has its own theme and lovely decor. It's warm, clean and cozy, with really comfortable beds. Our hosts are so welcoming and always glad to suggest places to see or help with directions. Alnwick is only a five-minute drive away; we've used local taxis at night, about £20 for the return trip. It's great value, and the breakfast is outstanding. We love this place, thanks again for having us 😀

We had a brilliant two-night weekend stay with our family of five and two dogs. The place is pretty and cozy, and they were very accommodating. Staff were helpful and polite. Already looking forward to coming back.

We've stayed here for years and it still has all its lovely quirks. The lounge's real fire is great, and the hosts are so friendly that we almost feel like family. Just bear in mind you'll need a car to get anywhere from the lodge.
