Hillsdale in Ambleside

Hillsdale was spotless and well furnished, and the location in town was great. Caz & Steve were lovely hosts, made us feel right at home and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were superb and we were spoiled for choice. We had a lovely stay and can recommend Hillsdale in Ambleside to everyone. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks Caz & Steve. X Arthur & Jean.

Caz greeted us and gave clear directions to the free parking a couple of blocks away. We could leave the car out front for an hour to check in, then move it to the locked lot. Being able to check in from 1300 was a bonus. Hillsdale Inn is on a peaceful street, just a block or so from all the activity. The room was attractive and comfortable, with all the toiletries I needed. Caz also suggested things to do during the day and evening. Breakfast was delicious, and chatting with Caz and Steve made it even better. They made everyone feel welcome. Saying goodbye felt like parting with old friends. We stayed one night at this charming inn in Ambleside and look forward to returning on our next visit to the lake district.

We had a last minute accommodation nightmare last night, but luckily Hillsdale had a room available. Steve & Caz were so welcoming and held it for us while we got sorted. Nothing was too much trouble. It’s a beautiful, warm and welcoming place, and breakfast was included and great. Couldn’t recommend it enough, and we look forward to staying again :)

Our room was cosy and clean, with a comfy bed and pillows that gave us a good night’s sleep. Caz & Steve were excellent hosts. Breakfast was plentiful and spot on, and the location was perfect. A great overnight stay, and I’d definitely recommend it.
