Langdale Chase

The lake tour on the beautiful ‘Albatross’, captained by Rob and Pete, was the highlight of our trip. They were fantastic hosts. My wife and I came for our mini moon right after our wedding, and the whole stay was beautiful, magical and absolutely fantastic. The staff were great, the food was amazing and the views were incredible. We can't wait to come back.

The terrace gave us a lovely view of the scenery, and the weather was kind enough for our guests to enjoy it too. We held my husband's 70th birthday in the hotel's private sitting room, and everything came together beautifully, from the venue and service to the delicious menu the chef prepared. Please pass on our thanks to everyone who helped make the day so special. We really appreciated the hospitality.

The afternoon ended with a panoramic lake view, plenty of tea and bubbles, and lots of delicious food from our friendly, attentive waiter, Marcio. The team handled everyone's dietary needs without fuss, so we could just relax and eat. Earlier, we took a trip on The Albatross with Rob and Pete, who were knowledgeable, entertaining, and happy to answer all our questions about lake Windermere and the people living along its shores and islands. They arranged a buggy to help my auntie back up and carefully helped her on and off board, which we really appreciated. We were there for my sister's 50th birthday and had such a great time. The building and location are stunning, the staff are superb, and we'd definitely come back and recommend it.

Even the heavy rain didn't spoil our three-day break, and we'll definitely return. The staff were so pleasant and attentive, the food was superb in both the restaurant and bar, and the hotel was extremely dog-friendly. Our bedroom and the shared spaces were beautifully appointed, with thoughtful details right down to how the kettle was stored. The toiletries and diffuser were lovely too.
