That little patio by the brook was such a treat, especially with the very friendly duck dropping by. We stayed in the junior suit, and the room, location, food and service were the best I’ve experienced. The staff were helpful and polite, especially the young lady at check-in. The food was incredible, carefully prepared and just the right portions. I’ll be back often.

The chef made every meal a standout, with hot food, lovely presentation and loads of flavour. He was also happy to cater to each request. We spent three days at The 3 Shires Inn, in Langdale, and the staff couldn’t have done more for us. The room was roomy and comfortable too. Those huge, soft, fluffy towels nearly came home with me, and I was tempted by the mattress as well, though it wouldn’t fit on the car roof! 😄

We came for lunch when we arrived, and my fish and chips were delicious. Breakfast the next morning was perfect too. The scenery and walking around here are breathtaking, and the room was cosy and so comfortable. My friend and I stayed one night at The Three Shires, where the staff welcomed us as warmly as the fire in the bar. The shower was AMAZING. I can’t recommend the place enough, and I WILL be back soon. Thanks, Three Shires team.

The pig’s cheek starter, with its tiny toffee apple, was a revelation. I’d never tried pig’s cheek before, and the chocolate brownie that followed was the best I’ve ever tasted. We came for Christmas Day lunch, not an overnight stay, so I can’t speak to the rooms. The meal was beautifully cooked and presented, and worth every penny. The staff were friendly and welcoming and made it a Christmas to cherish. I’d happily return, for more than just the location. A wonderful place!

The mountain views and sheep in the fields make this such a special spot. We arrived a little late, but Mitch went above and beyond with his warm hospitality and incredible service. The rooms were clean and lovely, with plush towels. One of the best authentic, quintessentially British stays I’ve had. We’ll definitely come back.
