The Salty Dog Hotel & Bistro

The backyard is fantastic on a sunny day, and the place is dog friendly. There's a large menu with lots of appealing choices. Prices are above average, I'd say, but it's well worth it. We'll definitely go again!

The marina right outside gives the place a lovely atmosphere, and the staff are generally lovely. It's cozy and nice for bringing your dog. But the food has missed for me every time I've been this year, always so salty that I leave thirsty. The staff seem very young and clearly inexperienced. I may give it a break for a while, as I'm starting to fall out of love with it as a Sunday afternoon spot.

We'd go back, just not when it's so busy. It's a welcoming place with great food, a good location, fair prices, and it's dog friendly. Our waitress might have been under pressure, but we waited 20 minutes before she brought the kids' menu, by which time we'd chosen from the adult one and were ready to order. They were happy to make kid sized portions, which was great. She offered colouring too, but it never came. Drinks were a bit slow as well. We managed fine.

The menu has something for everyone, and the food is tasty and good quality. I usually stop by for drinks, but I've also had several dinners here. Being able to bring my dog inside and sit with them while I have a drink is really endearing, and I appreciate that inclusion. I wish more places did it.
