The food is a big part of why we keep coming back. We’ve had the poussin several times and love it, even though it takes a bit longer to cook. The rib of beef for two, beef fat crumpets with brisket, pork belly, fish of the day with lemon, and the lunch Bel burger or dinner béarnaise burger are all good picks. And if you’re around on a Sunday, don’t miss the roast. The team make every meal and drink feel like being at home. They’re thoughtful, welcoming, and careful about cross-contamination because I’m allergic to salmon. Sian even remembered months later. Thanks to Ophelia, Anya, Dingo, Finn, Indi, Sian, Poppy, Lottie, Will, Tom, Callum, and the rest of the team for making us feel part of the Bel family. We love seeing everyone get a warm welcome, and the local dogs are lovely too. If you’re nervous around dogs, the owners keep good control of them.

The fires were going throughout the venue, which made it feel warm and welcoming. We stopped in for lunch and found a good choice of food, all of which tasted great. The bar staff and restaurant team were friendly from the moment we arrived. Nice vibe, and I’d recommend it.

Christmas Eve felt properly festive, and the team seemed keen to make sure everyone had a good time. We were celebrating an anniversary and a birthday on a busy night, but the personal service and attention to detail made it feel special. We shared the rib of beef and the food was excellent. Thanks to Tom and his kitchen team, Will and Callum at the bar, and Ophelia, Sian, Poppy, and Lottie in the restaurant. Merry Christmas!

There were four of us and we shared chicken and ribs. Generous portions, and we each got our own little ramekin of gravy. We arrived at short notice during the Christmas period, but they still managed to find us an early dinner table. Great service.
