The glasshouse was a lovely place to dine, bright, airy, tastefully decorated in a modern style, and Christmassy. Our cockapoo was welcome throughout, including at meals there, and we enjoyed evening drinks with our dog at the 1975 bar. The staff were attentive and friendly and made our family Christmas feel special. We had a delightful three-night Christmas break with my partner, parents, and dog, staying in two charming courtyard rooms with lovely views across the grounds. The food was excellent and plentiful. Christmas Day’s feast stood out, with hearty traditional main courses and some added touches. We also enjoyed leisurely woodland walks around the beautiful grounds with our dog.

The afternoon tea was a wonderful present for my mother. The Christmas decorations were beautiful and atmospheric, and the garden is stunning and very well maintained, with lovely places for photos. The staff were kind and helpful, especially the women at reception, who answered all my emails about the afternoon tea.

The people are what make Oakley Hall so special. Everyone we met was kind, genuine, and helpful, and the rooms were lovely. Our guests also had wonderful things to say about the food, drinks, and service, especially the fish and dessert. Head Chef Kevin took our menu tasting feedback on board and looked after everyone so well on the day. We had the best time celebrating our wedding at Oakley Hall on 9th August 2025. It’s a stunning venue with lovely grounds, elegant rooms, and warm, welcoming staff. As an independent, family-owned hotel, it felt welcoming from our very first visit. Our coordinator, Ed, was attentive, organised, and reassuring throughout the planning. On the day, David, Ben, and the whole team made everything run smoothly so we could enjoy it. Sinead did a brilliant job setting everything up that morning, especially after a large wedding the day before. The wedding package was very reasonably priced, and Oakley Hall exceeded all our expectations. We couldn’t have chosen a better place. Thank you to everyone who made the day so wonderful.

Our guests gave us nothing but positive feedback about the canapes, wedding breakfast, and evening buffet. The grounds looked amazing in their autumn setting, and we were fortunate to have our wedding here in October 2025. Both the bridal and groom’s parties stayed the night before and the night of the wedding. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, with everything you’d need. Every staff member we met, along with the coordinators who kept in touch throughout the process, was helpful, energetic, and professional.

We booked a midweek afternoon tea online and found the place empty when we arrived. We were greeted very politely and shown to our table before ordering tea. The food was tasty and nicely presented, though the butter for the scones was missing and the clotted cream was quite firm. Just small niggles. The tea was lovely, and we had a lovely afternoon.
