The staff were quick and helpful, and breakfast was good. Room 32 is clean and comfortable, though it could use some attention: the carpet is frayed by the door, the shower room needs paint, and the toilet kept leaking. Towels were provided as the leak continued to be dealt with. It’s a small room at the top of the building, up three flights of stairs, above a busy town-centre pub beside a main road. Very handy for shops and things to do in the city centre.

It’s easy to get around from here, with Bath Spa Station only about a six-minute walk away and everything close by. We found check-in simple, the rooms clean and equipped with what we needed, and breakfast more than enough. The rooms sit above a lovely pub with a friendly atmosphere, helpful staff, and a dog-friendly policy that was a real plus for us. We also ate there: tasty food at reasonable prices and a very good beer selection. We were very happy with the stay and would recommend it, especially for anyone travelling with a dog.

A couple of practical things first: there’s no parking at the property, so you’ll need a nearby public car park, though it’s only a short walk. The rooms are upstairs in the pub and there’s no lift, but staff can help with heavy bags if you ask. The location is handy for the city centre, and our room was quiet, clean and comfortable, with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was the highlight for us, absolutely delicious. I’d highly recommend staying here on a trip to Bath.

We couldn’t get into our room elsewhere until after 3pm, so we used the Stasher bag service here, which was great. The place was clean and well looked after, and the staff were friendly and really helpful. It has that homely feel you want in a pub.

A lovely little pub and hotel, with good food and drinks. The building feels a bit dated, and our third-floor room shook when a large vehicle went by, though traffic eased off in the evening. It was a good place to stay and I’d come back.
