The Gainsborough Bath Spa

My sister and I loved every moment of our stay in this central hotel, which has a quiet luxury to it. The hotel was immaculate, our room was beautiful, and the spa was wonderful. Stewart, our concierge, was always friendly, attentive and professional. Thank you all for making our trip to Bath so special.

We stayed overnight and enjoyed it. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the room was comfortable with nice decor. It came with wine, tea, coffee pods, soft drinks and water. We had trouble with the heating, which couldn’t be fixed on the spot, but staff apologised and quickly brought a portable heater that worked perfectly well. The spa was excellent and relaxing, with several pools and saunas. The steam room was uncomfortably hot and hard to breathe in, though. Treatments were pricey even with the discount, but we enjoyed them. There was also a Christmas Carol service with mince pies and mulled wine, a really nice touch. I’d come back for a treat.

The rooms are stunning and full of thoughtful details. The bed was firmer than I’d prefer, though I still slept well, and the bedding was very comfortable. We came for my partner’s birthday, and I proposed during the stay. The team were so friendly and attentive, and arranged champagne in the room and rose petals on the bed. The couples massage was incredible, the spa was lovely and the water felt great. Breakfast was great too. I’d highly recommend it.

Everyone at The Gainsborough Bath Spa was so welcoming and made a real effort to look after me. The attention was consistent across reception, housekeeping, concierge and the rest of the team. There were lovely details during the stay, like oranges on the desk when I arrived and some goodies in the room at turndown. The room was spacious, the whole hotel spotless, and the finish felt high quality throughout. I also had an amazing facial treatment in the Spa Village. A fantastic one-night stay, and thanks to the team for going above and beyond to make me feel accommodated.
