A comfortable night’s sleep, a good breakfast spread and friendly staff made for a great one-night stay. It’s also well placed for exploring Bath, and felt like a lovely boutique hotel.

We got a good night’s sleep, and the place had a quaint feel. The included breakfast was excellent, especially the Kenya coffee, though I’d have liked more protein choices, such as eggs. We only stayed one night as part of a two-day bus tour. From the reviews and photos, I’d expected somewhere nicer and more updated, but it did the job for one night. The weather was too cold and rainy to enjoy the garden.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the location was great. The room was spacious, and the shower pressure was GREAT. After two previous hotels with very weak showers, it felt like a real luxury.

Breakfast was outstanding, especially the French press coffee. The staff were lovely and friendly, and everything in Bath was an easy walk away, which suited us since we love walking. Just be aware there are lots of stairs and no elevator. That didn’t bother us.

The room was clean and cosy, with a modern, spotless bathroom that was a decent size. It’s close to the city centre and Pultney bridge, so it worked really well for a short city stay.
