The portions were generous and the quality was top, though lunch here is on the pricier side. We had a lovely spacious table, the drink selection was brilliant, and the food was delicious. The woman running the pub and the one behind the bar were both really friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back.

Louis the pub dog is a sweetie, and the festive feel was lovely, with Christmas oldies playing in the background. The pub looked absolutely stunning for Christmas, just across the road from Battle Abbey, which was looking festive too. We had fantastic food and great service, and the Ploughmans was definitely the best. We didn't stay in the hotel.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and we had a fabulous little getaway with everything we needed and more. We didn’t eat here, so I can only speak for the room. It was very clean and comfortable, with bathrobes, a magnifying mirror, and plenty of tea and coffee, including enough milk for both of us and some hot chocolate. There was a bath and a shower, and we weren’t bothered by noise at all. It’s a lovely little hotel in the centre of Battle, and I’d definitely stay again.

The staff worked hard to sort out Christmas dinner after I realised I’d booked us without the festive menu. They were very accommodating, and the food was amazing. We’d highly recommend coming here for a roast. I even ate the Brussels sprouts!

Had the large triple meat roast for Sunday lunch. It was delicious and huge, and I can’t fault it. Unless you’re very hungry or have a big appetite, though, that size might go to waste. Highly recommend.
