Benedicts Hotel

It was a birthday gift from my husband and family, and one I won't forget. We only stayed one night because of other commitments, but would have stayed longer otherwise. The staff were excellent, and the food was second to none. Breakfast had an outstanding range and was well cooked. The beds were comfortable, and tea, coffee, water, and snacks were provided. We really recommend a stay.

We've stayed here a few times over the years. It's in a great spot near bars and restaurants, and the hotel is clean and warm. The food was great as usual, as were the staff. Some areas are starting to look tired, especially the orange wallpaper in the room corridors.

Pat served us on most mornings and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was spot on, and the upstairs restaurant serves great food at very good prices. There's also a hotel bar, a nice place for a night out. The location is handy, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, about a 10 minute walk from the main bus and train station and around 15 minutes from the town centre. Our room was regularly cleaned, with fresh towels and bottled water each time. The safe is free to use, and there's a kettle too. The desk staff were always ready to help. Thanks to everyone for a great stay, we'll return.

Caroline was extremely accommodating when my parents called the day before their booking to ask about rearranging, after my father became unwell. They really appreciated her help. The way she handled their query was fantastic customer service, and they'll keep returning to Benedict's, as they try to do at least once a year. Thanks, Caroline.
