Fitzwilliam Belfast

The suite had stunning views of the city centre and a very comfortable bed, so we slept brilliantly. Service was fantastic, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices for different tastes, including a vegan section. I’d absolutely come back and want to thank the staff for a 10/10 stay. I was given this complimentary stay to make up for an earlier visit that hadn’t been desirable. That first stay had a multitude of problems, so I waited to review until the hotel had a chance to redeem itself. I’m glad I did, because this visit won me over.

Breakfast was like an airport at peak travel time, crowded, chaotic and oddly stressful. The welcome plate, two macarons and a brownie, tasted suspiciously as if it had been thawed 10 minutes earlier. We were supposed to get a glass of prosecco on arrival too, but it presumably never made it to us. We booked an upgraded city view room in December 2025. The city view was there, but the upgrade felt less apparent. And what was going on with the curtains in the lobby? The minibar wasn’t complimentary, and the prices were laughable. Tesco across the road is the real VIP experience. There are genuinely good 5-star hotels nearby at similar prices, so I don’t understand how this place keeps its rating. Ironically, the 4-star hotel we stayed at the next night was much better in every way. Still puzzled about how this hotel has 5 stars.

The Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast is in a perfect spot, close to everything in the city, and it’s easily one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Belfast. The rooms were spotless, spacious and luxuriously furnished. We also had outstanding comfort, elegant décor and impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to make the stay memorable. Worth every star!

We stayed here for our wedding, and the staff made the day feel special. Trisha and Sarah even served as our witnesses and were wonderful cheerleaders. Trisha went especially far out of her way for us, and I can’t thank her enough. They really create a unique experience for guests. Every staff member we met, from the concierge to the bar team, was incredible. The location right by city Hall is perfect, and the rooms are lovely. I can’t say enough about the service. We’ll definitely come back whenever we’re in Belfast. Thank you for a stay that gave us such a special memory.
