The location is great for the Waterfront Hall, and the city-view room was fine, with water, tea and coffee, slippers and dressing gowns. Reception staff at check-in and checkout were friendly and helpful, as were the bar and restaurant teams. The car park is extremely tight, though. What ruined the night was the very noisy couple in the next room, which had an adjoining door. They banged on it twice, shouted and were throwing up. We called reception; someone spoke to them and it went quiet for about ten minutes, then the noise started again. When we called a second time, someone came up, stood outside and left without doing anything. My husband, kids and I were awake well past 3am, then left early just to get home and sleep. We booked one night for an event and paid several hundred pounds, so not being able to sleep was simply not good enough. Given how badly the noise complaint was handled, I don't think we'd ever stay again.

The bathroom was modern and to a good standard, with exceptional lighting. There were a few marks on the bath and a little mould or dirt around the shower glass panel's grout. In the room we had tea and coffee, a kettle and mini fridge, but no bottled water, just two mugs and the drinks. I stayed with my partner for our anniversary, and the staff were really lovely at check-in. The room was spacious, looked out over the Lagan, and had very comfortable furniture and bed.

The rooms were spacious and clean, but several parts of my stay were frustrating. I was charged £44 after checkout for the second guest, though nobody had told me about the charge when I asked for an extra key. I'd booked with a flight, and the reservation showed one person, but the website has the same room-only rate for one or two guests. When I questioned it, I got an apology but no refund. We didn't leave the room until 2.30pm one day, then left a sign asking for service, but the room wasn't serviced. At about 10pm we went to No4 grill and were asked if we wanted food, and said yes. When we asked about dessert in that same conversation, they said they'd need to check with the chefs, then told us to order room service because they wanted to pack up. That would add a £10 tray charge. Room service was very limited, with only two overnight dinner options, and one had run out on Sunday evening. We weren't told about the £10 tray fee until checkout either.

I've returned to the Hilton Belfast City Centre a few times, and it's one of my favourite Belfast hotels. The rooms are consistently comfortable, clean and nicely presented, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. The bar has a great atmosphere, and the food, cocktails and other drinks are very good. It's an easy place to unwind in the evening without going out. Great location too, and I'd gladly stay again.

The staff and location were top notch, and the hotel had good rooms and an excellent restaurant. This is the best hotel in Belfast to me, and it’s why I choose Hilton for business and family trips. Desk staff were thorough and welcoming; the Executive Lounge hostess was responsive and customer focused; and the breakfast team were top notch, from dining check-in to attentive floor service. We had a riverside room with huge windows looking toward Samson and Goliath, the cranes that built the Titanic. The hotel is close to downtown: around a 15-minute walk from the train station, the airport bus terminus, and seven minutes from City Hall and the mall. The convention center is next door, and the City Airport was about a ten-minute Uber ride away. My Diamond status gave me access to the lounge, beside the front desk. The hostess changed up the little desserts and finger food on the nights we were there. I had local beer and my wife tried the sweet wine she recommended. It got busy, but never felt crowded. The breakfast room looked and felt grand; the selection wasn't over the top, but was more than enough for a classy, memorable meal.
