Prince of Wales Hotel

We did have a small water issue over Christmas, but after we called, the staff brought us three bottles. I appreciated them making that effort during such a busy time, especially as this is an independent business. The newly renovated room was immaculate, with a great door system and one of the best showers around.

My sister and I had a peaceful night in a twin room last Saturday. It was quiet, the beds were comfortable, and everything was very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the building felt welcoming and looked clean. I think it’s recently been refurbished. We couldn’t find a hairdryer, and I’m not sure if you have to request one, but luckily we didn’t need it, so that wasn’t an issue for us. Good price too. I’d happily come back and recommend it.

A handy base for exploring the Cotswolds, with five-star food in the restaurant. The room was clean and comfortable, and it was very good value. You’re not paying £300 a night, so don’t expect a five-star hotel.

Breakfast was really dire. There were just three slices of hard bread, and the Crunchy Nut cornflakes in the little boxes were past their date, 09.06.2025. The "Fresh orange juice" was concentrated, and there was nobody around to show me how to use the toaster or offer any help. On the plus side, the young woman at reception went above and beyond when I checked in. Thank you.
