The White Swan Inn

We had a very generous room, with an extra large king bed, a single bed and a sofa, yet it never felt cramped. There was a kettle with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits, and a large en suite with an excellent shower, though no bath. WiFi was available throughout, which was the main hotel facility we needed. We stayed B&B and ate in the bar the night before. Between two of us, we ordered one starter and two mains, and couldn’t finish because the portions were so generous. The food was very good, especially the whitebait, and drinks were reasonably priced. Breakfast was just as generous as dinner and had good ingredients, which I imagine were locally sourced given the farming area. Amazing value for money. Highly recommended if you want a pleasant stay in a homely pub and don’t need things like a spa or gym.

A good base for getting around the area, and I’d definitely recommend staying here. The staff were all lovely and made sure we were well looked after. Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed, with a great shower. We enjoyed the food too, no complaints at all.

This friendly local pub is in a great spot for the coast and countryside, and it’s excellent value. We stayed DB&B. The rooms were immaculate, with a spotless en suite, and everyone on staff provided excellent customer service. The evening menu was really good and fairly priced, and breakfast was super. I’d definitely go again. A real gem.

We came to this beautiful little village for our wedding anniversary and will definitely return, perhaps every year. It’s not far from Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle. The staff were wonderful and attentive, and they accommodated my vegan wife’s diet without any fuss. As someone who isn’t vegan, I’d happily eat food like hers. I’d suggest adding a few more vegan options to the menu, which might bring in more vegan customers. All in all, I’d definitely recommend a stay at The White Swan.
