Holiday Inn Birmingham North - Cannock

The staff were very helpful, and I liked relaxing with the open views from the top floor sky bar. It's cosy, reasonably priced, and has nibbles. Breakfast starts at 6:30, which is handy, with the usual buffet plus some dishes cooked to order. The location also works well for travel, about five minutes from the town centre, restaurants, and several shopping centres. Rooms are standard rather than special, but comfortable, with large windows. Mine was clean and the mattress wasn't sagging. Showers are good and there are Dove toiletries. The air con or heat pump hum can get a bit annoying, though it wasn't a real problem.

Ashleigh went above and beyond to make dining a great experience, and the service throughout was excellent. I'm here on a business trip and have had a really pleasant stay. The room is spacious and modern. Thanks for the lovely hospitality. If I come back to Cannock, I'll definitely stay here again.

The breakfast was a hit with all of us, including our four-year-old daughter. On the first day the sausages weren't very nice, but on day two a lovely lady offered different sausage choices and black pudding, and it was fantastic. The food in the sky bar on the 12th floor was much better than we expected from Holiday Inn, and Ashleigh's service and conversation made us feel comfortable. He's one of the most polite, amazing barmen we've met. The bar and its view are lovely too. We chose this hotel as a stopover before Alton Towers on New Year's Eve, after three lovely days in Wolverhampton visiting the races, the Black Country Museum, and the Wolves stadium tour, which we recommend. A friendly receptionist checked us in and even served drinks when there were no bar staff early on. Our room on the eighth floor was clean, better than expected, and had a lovely view. The White Hart was a convenient local pub, a £4 taxi ride away, with good food. It's a welcoming base with great staff and rooms that suit our needs. Emily gave us a warm welcome when we arrived for our overnight stay. Both the hotel and our room were clean. Nothing to complain about, and I'd stay here again.
