Umbrella Properties Apartment Birmingham

The kitchen had everything we needed, and the apartment is in a pleasant, quiet residential area. We also found a PS4 with a good range of games, handy if you want to relax or game. Host communication was straightforward, and both self check-in and check-out were easy. We stayed one night and slept well. I'd recommend it for a Birmingham visit if you're looking for good value.

I only stayed because I arrived very late from work and had no other option. I slept in my clothes. There was banging all night. The place was dirty throughout. There was old food in the cupboard and fridge, stains by the bed from spilled drinks, and the toilet brush was covered in poo. The floor was loose, with dirt packed into the gaps, and the sink wasn't fixed to the worktop. The shower tray felt like it might give way when I stood on it. Furnishings were incomplete, cables hung out, and there were no fire, heat or smoke alarms. The garden paving on the way to the property wasn't lit properly, and I tripped on it. The PlayStation didn't work because its controller was broken. If this is their standard for guests, they should be ashamed.

The property is about a 15-minute walk from Northfield station, so it won't be easy for disabled visitors. We needed to be in Northfield for a couple of days and chose Umbrella. The price is like a standard hotel, though you get a separate condo. The bed was a little small, my only real complaint, and the toilets and facilities were clean. The key was in a locked cabinet. There's a cooker, cutlery and microwave, so you don't have to rely on takeaways. The room also has a monitor, TV and PS5 games, including Assassin's Creed and FIFA, which should suit the lads. Sorry about the pictures, it was untidy because of us.

A quiet spot behind someone's house, but it hadn't been cleaned after the last occupants. There was piss all over the bathroom.
