Remember to get your parking ticket stamped when you leave the hospital, as that gets you a discount. The parking itself was a nightmare when I took my child to an appointment at the children's hospital. There was a long queue because the car park was full. They let you in when a car left, but then you had to locate the space it had vacated. The bays are very tight, and the pillars between them make parking even trickier.

After my little one's operation at Birmingham Childrens Hospital, I was glad there was a hospital concession here. It's in a great location. Good work, NCP, and the app makes things really easy at other locations too.

A 1.96m entry limit is ridiculously low, so people carriers and vans can't get in. Roadside parking is scarce, limited to four hours, and costs £15.05 for that time. It feels like Birmingham city council is taking advantage of parents with sick children.

The walk to A&E is a bit of a distance, which could be hard in winter if you're a single parent bringing sick kids. The ground floor does have improved parent-and-child bays. I parked here for the children's hospital A&E, and the advertised discount worked, though the parking can still feel very expensive and poor value.
