The location’s all right, just a short taxi ride from Birmingham centre. But the bed was really uncomfortable, and the duvets were too small for it. I had the worst night’s sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel. I’ll be going back to Premier Inn.

When we got inside, there was a smell from the local takeaways, even in the rooms. The location didn’t seem very good, and both the exterior and interior felt old and run down. It’ll do if you’re desperate. The staff were a bit difficult when I asked to look at a room.

The room was clean and comfortable. Reception being on the first floor is an odd setup. The hotel sits above a KFC, but thankfully I couldn’t smell it inside.

Plenty of parking, and good value for the price. The rooms were good, though there was some noise in the corridor in the middle of the night.

The room was clean, the rates were reasonable, and the staff were friendly. Easy to find, too.
