We left without staying the night. There were ants in the bathroom and around the beds, and a brown, frothy bucket sat under the bathroom sink to catch a leak. The walls were so thin we could hear quiet conversations next door, and when those guests started smoking weed, we could smell it in our room. When we first arrived, the man showing us the room said not to worry about a toilet flush because someone was cleaning. A person came out of the bathroom, but left it smelling bad. It clearly seemed like he'd used it rather than cleaned it. When we complained about the room and asked to move because of the ants, there was no apology. The man seemed bothered and said the ants didn't bite, and that we should be grateful for the room because it was an upgrade from what we'd originally been meant to get. Returning the keys was awkward too. Different men at the office took them and didn't ask why we were leaving early or how the stay had been. They weren't apologetic. It was a truly rank place to stay.

The location is very good, just a short walk from Soho Road with lots of shops and restaurants. The bedrooms were okay, though they could be better. The bathrooms need urgent attention.

The rooms were filthy, with blood stains on the sheets and human hair on the pillows and bedding. Paint and plaster were coming off the walls, and wires were hanging out. The bathroom and kitchen were shared, so it felt more like shared accommodation than a hotel. I couldn't get a refund. Absolutely disgusting, this should be shut down by the council.

I stayed because I had an event nearby, but the hygiene was atrocious and the whole place was a mess, with standards far below a hotel. The owner didn't care about the concerns I raised. Neighbours told me the place was housing paedophiles, so I packed my bag and left straight away. I would never recommend it. The worst place I've ever been to.

After a long drive, I lay down for a rest and found sick on my pillow. The bathroom floor had a pool of water that soaked my socks, and the shower was freezing with no hot water. Once I got into bed fully clothed, I realised my feet stuck out four inches past the end of the five-foot bed. I came with high expectations, but I honestly recommend this place if you're looking for the worst in Birmingham. The prices are great, mind!
