The conference hotel was conveniently located and easy to get to, with plenty of parking. The bedrooms were spacious, the beds comfortable, and breakfast had a decent selection. The food was OK overall. With 200 delegates, the buffet lunch by the Brueton bar was overcrowded, and there was nowhere for everyone to sit. Some people returned to the conference room to eat, while the foyer had about 20 seats and was cold. For the evening meal, it would’ve helped to have a menu showing the courses. There were also housekeeping issues: a hand towel in my room had holes, which I reported at reception when checking out. My colleague found opened, half-eaten biscuits in their room, and the previous occupant’s room card was still in the electric slot. That didn’t give the impression of thorough cleaning.

The hotel worked really well for our Doterra Business event, with easy access by road, air and train. The event space was ideal, the tables were kept topped up with water, and the organisation and cleanliness were great. Rooms were comfortable and warm during the cold spell in mid Nov 2025. Staff across the bar, restaurant and housekeeping were friendly, attentive and helpful. The hotel has modern décor, though the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and changing rooms looked dated. Hopefully those are next to be updated. I’d recommend staying here for business, a holiday or a Birmingham shopping trip.

My partner and I come to voco hotel every few years, and we had a fantastic time again. On Sunday, we went in for dinner and the woman in a blazer seated us warmly. Another friendly, kind staff member with glasses, who I think was called 'Naina', made my husband feel comfortable by speaking in sign language, since he doesn’t speak much. She checked in on us and made sure we were alright. When the steak came out a bit undercooked, she sent it back straight away. The service was amazing, and we’d definitely come back.

The staff were lovely, and the bedrooms felt luxurious. Everywhere was very clean. We only stayed one night and ordered breakfast to our room the next morning, but it was a big disappointment. Both cooked breakfasts arrived cold, and I couldn’t eat mine. The salt pot was empty and there were no clean cups for tea. I told reception when we checked out. The man apologised and said he’d pass it on, though he then asked what score we’d give the hotel. I hope he did share the feedback. Other reviews also seem to mention food letdowns. I’d stay again, but wouldn’t include food.
