We arrived to find a room that didn't look like the advert at all. It smelled of wet dog, and the shower drain was full of hair. When I raised it with Jacqui, the manager, she laughed in my face and said the room had been cleaned. Cleaned by who, Hagrid? I was there with my partner for a peaceful night away, but instead kids were running around. When another guest approached her, she made the woman and her child cry. I definitely won't stay in this hovel again. Anyone with half a brain cell should avoid it.

The room was small, but just right for what we needed. It and the bathroom were clean, the beds were comfortable, and towels, tea, coffee and milk were provided. The breakfast was very nice, and all the staff, including the breakfast team, were friendly and accommodating. The location was great: ten minutes on foot from the train station, two from the shopping centre, three from Coral Island and the pier, and right opposite the winter gardens. I'd highly recommend staying here and would return. Thanks to all the staff!

After trying four other Blackpool hotels for our annual holiday, my husband and I gave the Orbiston a go for its location. We've stayed nowhere else since, and we've just come back from our sixth visit. Jakie, the landlady, spoiled us as usual. We're already looking forward to another trip this summer to celebrate our retirement. I can't recommend The Orbiston enough!

The bar was good value, with lots of choice and a pool table, and the breakfast was delicious. My wife and kids loved the full English. Staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful, and the rooms were a good size, clean and had very comfy beds, a TV and an en suite. The hotel is an easy walk from the beach or seafront. We found the prices cheap, and if we come back to Blackpool, we'll definitely book again. Thanks!

I've stayed at this hotel three times in the past, and honestly wouldn't choose anywhere else. The staff are amazing, the location is great, and the rooms are cosy and tidy. I'm happy to say I'll be back this September. Can't wait!
