We stayed one night for a local event about a ten minute walk away. It was good value, with free parking for guests and a QR code option for people who aren’t staying there. The pier area is also about a ten minute walk. Food and drinks are available, and the staff were friendly. Worth considering if you want a budget place.

There was little chance of getting proper rest. Noise carried constantly from neighbouring rooms and the corridors, and the heating barely seemed to work, leaving the room freezing overnight. Hot water was unreliable too, so even taking a basic shower was impossible. The room itself was extremely basic. The atmosphere felt unusual and unsettling, as some rooms seemed to be used for temporary accommodation. One evening, a woman in a nearby room approached me and tried to solicit services. It was unexpected and deeply uncomfortable, and left me feeling unsafe in a place where I expected some professionalism. The stay was far below even modest expectations. Basic comfort, quiet and security were all missing.

The included breakfast was okay, but the dining area was dirty, with bits left across the floor and clearly not cleaned often enough. The receptionist didn’t smile and wasn’t pleasant, so we felt unwelcome. The small lift felt like it was bouncing, which was scary. We stayed two nights, and the room wasn’t clean either. There were hairs on the bed, the bathroom was tiny, and the shower was too hot with no proper way to adjust it. The walls were marked and need repainting. The place needs a lot of work, including better cleaning, fresh paint and replacement carpets.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed playing pool once the lounge and pool bar downstairs opened later in the week after repair work. We had to change rooms because of maintenance, though. The carpets need cleaning or replacing, and clean rooms were provided on request. It’s a nice, affordable place, cheaper on weekdays and close to the town centre. The beach is a lovely seven minute walk away, and a bus stops right outside. Paid parking is expensive, and we were told it isn’t managed by the hotel. Our window handles were broken and let in a lot of cold air in the early morning. The windows need cleaning and fixing. The lift only fits two people, and there are stairs too. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
