Applewood Hotel

Free parking was a lovely bonus, and everything we wanted to see, from the beach and pier to the centre, was an easy walk away. The hotel has gorgeous, quirky decor. Our standard double was on the small side, but arranged cleverly and had everything we needed. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back ❤️

The staff were so kind and accommodating. They sorted out every request and dealt with any problems quickly and thoughtfully. I’d happily stay again, and really couldn’t fault the place beyond wishing there were a mini fridge in the room for water and cold drinks. The bathroom was spotless, with fantastic water pressure, and we had plenty of cupboards and hanging space. The Fire TV also gave us loads to watch. I hadn’t realised at first that there were two breakfast options, so we chose the advertised light breakfast. There was a nice range of cereals, the porridge was some of the best I’ve had, and the eggs on toast were cooked just right. It was nice not to get the usual powdered scrambled eggs you find in so many hotels.

The room was clean, tidy and a good size, with a comfy bed and complimentary tea, coffee, toiletries and towels. Shops, bars, restaurants and the beach were all within an easy walk. We were given a warm welcome by the friendly, helpful owners, who knew the area and had suggestions for places to eat and visit. The free parking at the front felt safe, and access to the hotel was limited to residents, which was a reassuring feature. We’d stay again.

Jenna and the owners, Tien and Charlene, were welcoming, hospitable and full of local knowledge. They made us feel at home and helped make our Bournemouth trip memorable. We’ll definitely return. My husband and I stayed at The Applewood Hotel from 7-10 August for a mix of business and a celebration of our 24th wedding anniversary. It’s a lovely boutique style place, tastefully decorated, with free guest parking. The hotel was always fresh, clean and tidy, and housekeeping did a great job keeping it that way.
